So I'm totally sick of lefty politics. I listened to Air America Radio this week. I can't stand it. I guess I was mostly listening to the local side of it. Wendy Wild--puhlease, are you trying to sound like a shock jock? And some guy named Ed (I think) is actually Rush Limbaugh without the drug addiction. It's obnoxious. His little advert says "Some people say I'm opinionated..." WELL DUH, THAT'S WHY YOU'RE ON TALK RADIO, STUPID.

I'm not trying to be all counter-intuitive here, or even counter-counter-culture. What I am saying is that the Left, in many ways, is no different from the Right. And it's sad. Maybe Howard Dean can help change that now that he's the chair of the Dems. Or maybe Russ Feingold will get louder. Or maybe John Kerry will toughen up. Perhaps John Edwards will start a new project. Who knows?

Grassroots, grassroots, grassroots. It means nothing until the big wigs in DC and in state legislatures actually get some integrity. You've got to play the game--but the game is played in DC, not Montana or Chicago. Whine all you want on the internets, but nothing will change until elected officials stand up for their beliefs. Sure, some aspects of the atrocities this administration have made were sort of brought to light by lefty bloggers, but then what? Nothing gets fixed. Bloggers keep whining. Protesters keep protesting. But nothing really changes. Is it doing any good?

Perhaps within the next few years, they will actually influence mainstream media in a good way. Not just get the media talking or bitching about bloggers, but actually change the way the media conglomerations are run, or change where people get their info. Still, the average person is going to trust NBC (or even CBS) over some blogger any day. And I'm that average some days, too. Cuz guess what--the bloggers are just as biased as the media is.

With that said...I need some new blogs to read. No lefty political blogs--it's boring and scary that these people get so hung up on this shit (even Tom Tomorrow is making my eyes roll). I want fun blogs, like the Sneeze or BoingBoing. Any recommendations?

I hate lefties, too. I'm more left than central, but hearing the left bitch about EVERYTHING was the reason I wasn't going to vote for Kerry. I did in the end, but I was so sick of the whining.

They're fighting for good causes, but their approach is just as bad as the right's fight against it.

EXACTLY.

I detest the "Right" but I'm certainly not center. However, I'm almost afraid to call myself a lefty now.

I vaguely remember hearing the about a caucus recently, but had no idea it was last night.

My point was that I can only hope that any dems (or lefties) who actually do get voted in anywhere start to stand up for the Left more than they do now. We can only get so far as voters and activists. Maybe if some of the smarter grassroots activists here in MN ran for more offices, the Left would be louder and more respectable. Just rocking the vote didn't seem to work last time--seems like the next logical step is to run for office.

I actually e-mailed my AirAmerica affiliate to tell them how much I hate Ed Schults, and I said he's like a left wing Rush! You should listen to Marc Maron and Marc Riley on Morning Sedition and I think you would like Unfiltered.
It's better when they're being funny.
(on a side note, I like to remind everyone that I have been stalking Russ Feingold because he goes to my gym, and he's a little wierded out by me at this point, charges may be filed!)

Russ Feingold is so great. I'd stalk him too! Is he a hottie in his gym clothes? ;)

Did Air America email you back about Ed? I couldn't even find anything about him on their website, so I'm confused. But I forgot his last name, so that may explain it. He is seriously so bad. How can the station not know how ridiculous he sounds?

Yeah, I should listen at other times. I'll try to listen online more often.

Well, Ed isn't on AirAmerica, your local affiliate, like mine unfortunately added him instead of something else, maybe Randi Rhodes or something. So that's who you want to contact. They emailed me right away and thanked me for the input. But he's still on. Just means that I listen online to avoid him! :)
(And yes, Russy is hot, but he swims like a dog!)
